Katrin Mountain - Artist and Shamanic Practitioner

I absolutely loved working with Katrin on her website. As an artist, she had a strong idea of how she wanted her site to look and feel. We tried out several colour palettes before deciding on the perfect one that reflected the colours often used in Katrin’s work. She works mainly with fabric, creating flags, sculptures, wall hangings and cut-paintings. Some of her sculptures have been props for performances, and some have become tools for her more intuitive shamanic work.

Katrin also has a wonderful way with words and expresses herself beautifully in her writing, and this helped to make her website hers. It has her unique tone of voice and shows how she sees the world.

Katrin’s previous site, which she had built herself, had been purposely more formal and clinical looking as this was how, as an artist, she was expected to represent herself to be taken seriously in the art world. Katrin had reached a stage in her life where her spiritual practice and offerings had become interwoven with her art and she felt it was time to have a site that included this work as well, rather than create a separate shamanic site. it was about being seen in all her facets. The result I think is a site that weaves all her offerings together in a way that doesn’t minimise one or the other, but allows them to sit together in perfect symbiosis.
