Heather Brooke
Heather is an award-winning investigative journalist, published author, campaigner for freedom of information, teacher, writer and visionary. Her aim is to get people thinking about power - what it is, how to use it and how to stop its abuse. Her activism around the right to know led to a 2008 High Court battle against the UK parliament for MPs’ expenses, which she won.
Now as a novelist, she writes stories that show new ways of exercising power that challenge patriarchal notions that it’s all about domination and control. Heather knew she wanted to use bold colours that reflected feminine power and we agreed on a red, cerise pink and black palette with a touch of soft blue. She also organised a photo shoot which meant there were a wealth of great images to choose from which gives the site an overall cohesive look.
