Self Storage Wimborne

Tom David and his father Mark were my first ever website commission many years ago for their family business Davids Roofing. I was delighted when Tom contacted me to design a website for his new Self Storage business in Wimborne. He wanted to use the same colour palette as the roofing company as both businesses were in the same location.

I did some research and checked out other self storage websites and was surprised at how much they lacked personality and how uninspiring they were. I decided it would be good to go bold and graphic, as the images of storage containers would be fairly boring. The emphasis was to get across the security and safety aspect, so I designed icons to represent the different services Tom had in place such as CCTV, air vents, lock boxes etc. I also suggested Tom was upfront with the cost as there is nothing more offputting than having to request a quote, which seemed to be the route his competitors had gone down.

Tom’s son Bertie had a great idea for the logo and suggested creating a super hero character. Glen Wilkins designed a logo that has the character holding a storage container aloft in one hand and with a padlock design on his t-shirt, suggesting strength and security.
