Jennifer Curiel – Funeral Celebrant

It was a real pleasure to be trusted to work with Jennifer on her website, especially as she had previously worked with someone who had created a site that hadn’t met her brief or reflected her personality and business approach. As soon as we met, we hit it off, and I knew I was going to enjoy working with her. Jennifer wanted a bold, warm, friendly design rather than the polite, more typical look of her competitors. She trained with The Coffin Club – the name says it all! We decided on a colour palette of dark blue with touches of gold and salmon pink. We wanted it to be restful and classy but not obvious.

Jennifer is genuinely interested in people and their stories, is empathetic and a good listener. This means she can take what she hears and weave it into a personal and unique tribute. I suggested Jennifer have a page that talked about the various types of ceremonies or celebrations that she offers, from a traditional service, a memorial or a celebration of a life and more.

Jennifer was inspired to become a Celebrant after deciding to take her own Dad’s funeral. She told me it gave her a focus after he died and made her feel like she was doing something positive. It was then that she realised it was something she was good at. I suggested she talk about her Dad on her ‘About Me’ page, not only does it give context to her story, it adds a wonderfully human touch and helps clients connect with her on an emotional level.

Jennifer had an existing logo with a handwritten script approach that felt a little dated so I created a new one for using a more contemporary font.

Caroline was incredibly helpful in more ways than just being capable of designing a website. She was knowledgeable, creative and intuitive. She listened and understood my needs. Advice was on hand every step of the way. She replied to my questions straight away. I felt supported all the way through the process.
